Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GarageMate – Car Maintenance Tracker handles information when you use the application.
1. Information Entered Into the App
GarageMate allows users to enter and manage vehicle-related information, which may include:
- Vehicle make, model, year and mileage
- Fuel type and fuel economy records
- Fuel quantity, cost and odometer readings
- Maintenance and service records
- Service dates, mileage targets and costs
- Registration, insurance and warranty information
- Vehicle identification number, if entered by the user
- Reminder dates and notification preferences
- Ownership expenses and locally generated reports
- Notes voluntarily entered by the user
This information is voluntarily provided by the user to organize vehicle maintenance, fuel usage, costs, documents and reminders.
2. Local Data Storage
GarageMate stores vehicle profiles, fuel logs, service records, expenses, reminders and document information locally on the user's device.
The developer does not automatically receive, access or store this information on a remote server.
Locally stored information may be removed when the user deletes it inside the app, clears the app's storage or uninstalls the application.
3. Account Registration
GarageMate does not require users to create an online account or sign in to use its standard offline functionality.
4. Vehicle Health and Calculations
GarageMate may calculate vehicle health, fuel economy, upcoming service distance, monthly cost and other summaries using information entered by the user.
These calculations are provided for organization and general informational purposes only. They do not replace inspection, diagnosis or advice from a qualified automotive professional.
Users should independently verify maintenance requirements, warning signs, expiry dates and service recommendations.
5. Notifications and Reminders
GarageMate may request notification permission to display local reminders for:
- Upcoming vehicle maintenance
- Service mileage or date targets
- Registration expiry
- Insurance expiry
- Warranty expiry
- Other reminders created by the user
Notification permission is optional and can be changed through the device's system settings.
6. Documents and Vehicle Information
GarageMate may allow users to record document-related details, such as registration numbers, insurance providers, expiry dates or warranty information.
Users should avoid entering information they do not want stored on their device. GarageMate does not verify the accuracy or legal validity of any document information entered by the user.
7. Exporting and Sharing
GarageMate may allow users to export or share reports and vehicle records. Exporting or sharing is initiated by the user.
Once information is shared with another application, email service, cloud provider or recipient, its handling is governed by that third party's privacy practices.
8. Internet Access
GarageMate's main vehicle-management functionality is designed to work offline.
An internet connection may be required when the user chooses to share exported information using another application or when optional third-party services are enabled.
9. Advertising
GarageMate may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Google and its advertising partners may process information such as advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location, ad interactions and diagnostic information, depending on device settings, consent choices and applicable law.
10. Analytics
The current version of GarageMate does not use a third-party analytics service.
11. Crash Reporting
The current version of GarageMate does not use a third-party crash-reporting service.
12. Third-Party Services
GarageMate may use standard Android or Google Play components required for application distribution, notifications, security and compatibility.
Third-party services process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable settings.
13. Data Security
Reasonable measures are used to protect locally stored information. However, no device, electronic system or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users are responsible for protecting access to their device and any exported vehicle records.
14. Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored information remains on the user's device until the user:
- Edits or deletes the information inside GarageMate
- Clears the application's storage
- Uninstalls the application
Because GarageMate does not maintain an online account database for its offline workspace, there is generally no server-side account data to request for deletion.
15. Children's Privacy
GarageMate is a vehicle-management application and is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if GarageMate's features, SDKs, permissions, data practices or legal requirements change.
The updated policy and effective date will be published on this page.
